Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 42
Chapter 42: Episode 11. Team Training (2)
“Ah, so I need to take my clothes off. Take my…”
She thought about what I had said for a while, then stepped back in shock. Then, she covered her chest with both hands.
“I didn’t think you were like that, team leader! I’m very disappointed,” said Yoo Eunhye.
“What are you talking about? I have no interest in your body.” I told her the truth.
Yoo Eunhye was beautiful by human standards, but she was nothing compared to Christie. The same went for her body. Christie always had the most superior figure, even when she was deathly ill.
Of course, everyone’s beauty standards were different. The two of them had different charms, but I saw no need to touch her.
And to add on to that, I wasn’t even sexually crazed. If she wanted to, I would, but that was all.
Yoo Eunhye gave me a confused look.
“Then why are you asking me to take my clothes off?” she asked.
“We must take a close look at how electric currents flow through the surface of your body. That’s how it works. Both the external and internal have to be taken care of,” I replied.
“Then what about the valley?” she asked again.
“This place is full of cerebral power, so I thought it would be the perfect place to maximize your electric potential. Does this answer your question?” I answered.
“Yes, it did. Do I need to take my underwear off, though?”
“No, that’s alright. We just need to take a look at the direction of the current.”
There was no need to look at her entire body. Two-thirds of her exposed body would be enough to look at the direction and adjust the wavelength.
That was when she finally let her guard down. She also took her hands off of her chest.
“Gee, way to tell me to take my clothes off without any explanation,” Yoo Eunhye joked.
“Don’t worry, because I will never be tempted by you.”
“Wow… Isn’t that a whole different thing, team leader?”
“Quit your silly jokes.”
Yoo Eunhye sighed as she softly murmured, “I wasn’t kidding…” The words were as sharp as a dagger stabbing her lungs, but what could she do? The team leader’s words were the law.
Yoo Eunhye glanced at me, then looked down at her body. She repeated this process and closed her eyes while she slowly rolled up her hoodie.
Soon, her naked body was revealed.
She was so skinny that her ribs were slightly visible, and she had a body like a barbie doll, other than her breasts.
With nothing on but a pair of white undergarments, she looked rather pathetic. However, she confidently put her hands on her waist as if she had given up.
“Ahem. So, what do you think?”
“Your breasts could be a bit bigger.”
“…I’m very sorry! Sorry that I have small boobs! I’m the idiot, of course! I thought you would at least be indirect!” She sat down and pretended to cry.
I pushed Yoo Eunhye with my foot.
Splash!
“Glub! Glub! W-what are you doing?!”
Yoo Eunhye, who was in the water, strongly protested, but I didn’t even flinch.
“Hush. Just take a look at your body.”
“Hm? What?!”
Spark!
There was a powerful current flowing through the valley!
The combination of the current flowing through Yoo Eunhye’s body and the valley’s cerebral power was causing great effects.
“W-what do I do? What do I do with this?!”
Yoo Eunhye panicked and moved in every direction.
“Stay still—you’re too frenzied.”
“Don’t come in! N-no, team leader! This isn’t a joke! Even for the team leader, this is…”
I dipped my feet into the valley while using cerebral power, and I walked towards her as if the current had no effect on me.
Yoo Eunhye looked at me blankly.
I spoke indifferently.
“I told you. I learned the electric skill.”
“I-is that right? How impressive, team leader…”
“We’ll start adjusting the wavelength now. Close your eyes and pay attention to your skill.”
“Yes, sir. I will do as you say.”
Yoo Eunhye made jokes as if she had instantly calmed down.
I put my palm on Yoo Eunhye’s stomach.
“Ah!”
“Quiet.”
She bit her lips.
I slowly poured some of my cerebral power into Yoo Eunhye’s body.
Had the God of Cerebral Power been awake, everything would have been done on its own, but he was asleep at that moment due to his stomach being full of power. Unfortunately, I had to do it manually.
‘This isn’t as hard as I expected.’
Was it because of the heavy current? The direction of the electric current around Yoo Eunhye’s body was clearly visible.
I corrected the misdirected current. It had to be rotated in one direction to be normal, but it was spinning at random.
The reason why this passive skill couldn’t be controlled at all was because of its aimless direction.
Controlling the power was possible only if this directional problem was corrected.
“Imagine a faucet. Just as the amount of water released by the faucet can be reduced or increased, your skill can be fully adjusted. From now on, I will teach you how the swirl of power feels, so remember what you should sense.”
I didn’t stop there and taught her how to feel the electric current.
It was one way to cut down on the time it took to control the current.
The difference between knowing even a little bit and not knowing at all was huge. Mastering the skill was solely up to her.
‘Her skill may rank up there as well.’
Yoo Eunhye was protected by the Lightning Spirit.
It wouldn’t be impossible to make changes to the skill or raise its rank.
I sped up the teaching in anticipation.

“People often say to look at the shoulders of an attacker. That’s right. Shoulders move before weapons are swung, but the better way is to look at their eyes. If you can recognize the subtle difference, victory will be yours.
“There’s a point where opponents switch from offense to defense. Figure it out. It will then be easier to strike and fall.
“Combos. That’s what you need. Each one of you is absolutely useless, so the only hope you have against a strong enemy is to work together.”
Krathra was giving a great lecture.
Afterward, Krathra put everyone in one spot and diagnosed each weapon.
“Your hand is big, but your arm too short. A thick sword, such as the b*stard sword, would suit you better.
“Your wrists lack flexibility. What a fatal weakness for a bowler. Why not try a crossbow instead?
“…Why is a minstrel holding a dagger? In self-defense? You’d be better off hitting the enemy with a harp. That would be better than this at the very least.”
His knowledge in magic was shallow, so he skipped Yoo Eunhye and Lee Jihye.
The next day, blacksmiths arrived and measured their bodies to begin making customized weapons. The weapons came exactly three days after, and a merciless match against Krathra immediately began.
“Fight me together. I’ll match your levels for your sake, but the same rule applies. Anyone who can land a scratch on me will be free from other training sessions!”
Nobody could say no.
Every day continued the hellish training, and they were ready to do anything to get out of it.
If the level was lowered too, their chances of winning weren’t zero.
Everyone picked up their weapons with their eyes blazing.
Smack! Smack!
But there was still the loud sound of leather exploding.
While everyone was on the floor resting from being overworked and tired, Krathra spat out the results of the training. “Reading my moves was nice. However, you reacted too fast. That gives the opponent time to respond and think.
“Kim Chunwon, you’re just hopeless. Problems everywhere. I suggest you kill yourself rather than bother the master.
“Why do the sorcerers have no faith in their teammates? You should use magic thinking they’ll do their shielding jobs correctly. Trust them a little more even if you cannot.”
The next day, the day after that day, and two days after, training continued.
Eventually, the new members complained after constantly losing.
“This is fraud! How is this anywhere near our level?!”
“Are we a bunch of punching bags?! We’re getting punched left and right!”
“Haha! Hahahaha!” Kim Chunwon had gone half-mad.
The fact that Krathra was extra harsh on Kim Chunwon had an added effect on him going crazy.
He was at the point where he would panic in his sleep if he just heard the ‘K’ sound of Krathra’s name.
Of course, this didn’t apply only to Kim Chunwon.
What they were learning was how to fight against stronger enemies; no wonder it was hard.
When Krathra was done with them, they were to face Randalf Bruciel, the team leader.
“It’s time for the electric massage.”
The members paled.
Fighting and training were deathly, but it didn’t kill them. But the electric massage was different.
There was fear that one could actually die!
It was pain that made one wish one was dead!
It was called the hell massage for such reasons.
The first target was Kim Chunwon, unfortunately.
“Put your heart at ease.” The worst words came out of the leader’s mouth.
‘Put my heart at ease so we can die in peace?’
Kim Chunwon turned around and ran in fear instinctively, but Krathra quickly snatched him back and returned him to his place.
Kim Chunwon was forced to give up.
In fact, the electric massage itself was nothing special.
All it did was send power through the back of one’s body to relax the muscles, but the catch was the pain that came afterward.
“Arrgh!” Kim Chunwon, who was already in horrible shape, started to foam from the mouth.
The team leader opened his mouth, puzzled. “That was even less power than usual, how odd.”
But the questionable moment didn’t last long.
“Next.”
No one stepped up first. Everyone was busy looking at each other.
It was scary to think that Kim Chunwon was their future.
However, they were birds in a cage, rats in a lab. There was no way out.
Just one person though, there was one person with different circumstances.
It was Yoo Eunhye.
“Ah, that feels nice!”
She was uniquely free from the massage, likely because of her electric skill.
Everyone looked at her in half envy and half resentment.
At times like this, Yoo Eunhye smiled awkwardly.
And so, three weeks passed by rather quickly.
<hr />
It was the last day of training.
Everyone was excited. They couldn’t help but smile in the thoughts that they were free from hell.
I took the time to check on everyone’s progress for the last time and look at their statuses through clairvoyance.
I looked at Yoo Eunhye first.
Name: Yoo Eunhye
Occupation: Hero (Sorceress of Lightning)
Title:
*Struck Ten Times by Lightning (R, Magic Power +4)
Stats:
Strength 28, Intellect 56
Agility 26, Health 25, Magic Power 55 (+4)
Potential (190(+4)/423)
Additional: Under the protection of the Lightning Spirit. Due to several lightning strikes, the lymph nodes, venom line, and the entrance to life and death have been forcefully opened.
Skills: Lightning Bolt (Ex N), Power Enhancement (R, Passive)
[Before and After]
Strength 20, Intellect 44, Agility 15, Health 14, Magic 49, Potential (138(+4)/423)
Strength 28, Intellect 26, Agility 26, Health 25, Magic 59, Potential (190(+4)/423)
It had only been a few months.
Compared to the first time I looked at the status windows, it showed remarkable growth.
In addition, the rating of the Lightning Bolt had gone up by half a level, and the electric skill had upgraded to Power Enhancement.
It allowed the electric skill to be more efficient, especially in the case of Power Enhancement.
I turned my head to look at Lee Jihye this time. She also showed great improvement.
Name: Lee Jihye
Occupation: Hero (Sorceress of Water)
Title: None
Stats:
Strength 24, Intellect 44
Agility 23, Health 29, Magic Power 48
Potential (168/277)
Additional:
Skills: Water Spear (N)
[Before and After]
Strength 22, Intellect 41, Agility 18, Health 26, Magic 35, Potential (142/277)
Strength 24, Intellect 44, Agility 23, Health 29, Magic 48, Potential (168/277)
Compared to the first time we met in the dungeon, the difference was quite steep. Considering the fact that her potential was small to allow steep improvements, the growth was excellent.
The four other members also showed somewhat satisfying results in just three weeks. At least three had gone up, and up to eight stat points.
But that wasn’t all. They each learned how to deal with weapons and the basics of dealing with the strong. They were definitely different from before.
Confidence was visible in their eyes, nothing like three weeks earlier when they were crying and running.
‘Seems like we’re almost ready.’
The team was finally ready for the ranking tournament at the Heaven-Chosen Association!
‘I’ll make sure to take care of the people on the tournament list.’
This meant those who had tried to take down the Heaven-Chosen Association and those who took the lead in defaming the Devil Hunter unit.
I, of course, had not forgotten.
Kim Yongwoo had passed me the list of all the names.
Had it not been for the ranking tournament, I would have destroyed them instantly…
I smiled faintly.
How would I take care of them?
The thought alone was enough to make me look forward to the tournament that was happening in a few days.
