Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 33
Chapter 33: Episode 9. Krathra and Krithli (1)
‘You are nervous.’
I could tell that Krathra and Krithli were nervous from their faces and gestures.
Krathra, in particular, looked at me as though he were okay, but his body was shivering slightly.
He was watching me with his eyes full of strength, analyzing me and staying prepared. At the same time, he was being protective of Krithli.
His attitude was little bit rude because it was not the proper way to treat his Dungeon Master. However, I could let it go because I knew what seemed to be such a rude attitude was merely his instinct as a brother to protect his sister.
Krathra could not do anything beyond guarding anyways. He could not take any action that would go against me, such as showing his teeth.
‘He looks nervous, probably because of the slave sign.’
Any item, including living things that came out in the auction, got sealed on both the body and the soul.
If a slave purchased at the auction tried to disobey his or her Dungeon Master, he or she would feel unbearable pain. In extreme cases, this pain could drive him or her mad.
Krathra must have known of this fact, and I was sure that his awareness was the reason for his nervousness.
“I salute the Dungeon Master.”
A group of 50 Dark Elves fell on their knees at once.
“Are you the chief?” I spoke to the Dark Elf standing in the front and leading the other elves. Out of all the elves, only he looked like an old man with white hair.
The old Dark Elf nodded to my question. “Yes, I am the chief of elves, Dungeon Master!”
“What is your name?”
“This is Juliam.”
“Are you and the Dark Elves behind you from the same village?”
“You are correct. Although we came out in different rounds of the auction, both Krathra and Krithli are also from the same village as we are.”
I scratched my chin.
These Elves volunteered to be auctioned after they received something in return from the Spirit of the Dark.
In order to provide a constant flow of items into their auctions, spirits always looked from those who would volunteer to be auctioned and get something in return, just like the Dark Elves.
However, in comes cases, spirits took creatures forcefully and took them to auctions for sale.
In any case, it was very unusual to see an entire village of Dark Elves come out in the auctions.
Furthermore, Krathra and Krithli came out in a different round of auction from that of Dark Elves’, even though they were originally from the same village.
Something must have happened in the village inside or to the village itself. Perhaps these were the reasons that the Dark Elves signed a contract with the Spirits of Dark.
As I remained silent for few minutes, Juliam continued this all of a sudden.
“We could not escape from the Qin vampires who invaded our village. They were interested in Krithli. That was the reason that I signed a contract with the Spirits of Dark.”
“I did not ask you anything.”
“Dungeon Master must know everything about us in order to lead us in the future. I thought that it was important to explain our previous situations to you for your reference.”
I liked how he explained all the details to me voluntarily, even though I did not ask any questions.
‘The Qin vampires invaded their village.’
I momentarily thought of some of the important characteristics of Qin vampires.
The Qin vampires had hot blood flowing inside of their veins.
They always want to cool their hot blood by feasting on the yin energy coming out of women.
However, the Dark Elves told me that they were interested in Krithli. Their actions then could only mean one thing.
“Were they interested in Krithli because the Curse of the Ice Dragon?”
I thought about the Curse of the Ice Dragon.
At the same time, I also thought about the yin energy congenital disease, a powerful leash.
Juliam’s eyes grew wider.
“…Have you already known of these things?”
“Krithli’s yin energy was so powerful that I could not help but notice.”
I just made things up.
The Dark Elves would not readily believe me if I told them the truth. I already figured out everything about Krithli using the Eyes of Mind. There was no need to raise distrust and make them suspicious of me.
“You are correct. In Krathra’s veins flows the blood of the Jinma dragon. However, Krithli was born with the terrible curse and has barely managed to survive. It is pity that despite the curse, she has always been the Qin vampires’ target, isn’t it?”
I could not tell whether if he did not know or he skipped over it on purpose.
‘He skipped it on purpose.’
Krithli seemed to have stronger characteristics of the Jinma dragon’s blood in her traits. I got the impression that the elf was hiding additional information and trying to protect Krithli.
I snorted with laughter.
‘It is absurd that the entire town of Dark Elves signed a contract with the Spirits of Dark because Qin vampires were after them. A normal group of Dark Elves would have simply turned over Krithli to the vampires and guaranteed the safety of the village.’
The Dark Elf’s omitting all the details was reprehensible. However, he did not pull any tricks after all, so I let him go this time.
I could make an issue of dishonesty, but doing so would not help the Dark Elves become loyal to me.
One would be very reluctant to swear allegiance to someone who knew everything about him or her.
I did not care too much about the other Dark Elves, but I wanted to make Krathra and Krithli as loyal as possible. In order to do so, I must learn how to not get attached to small details and move on.
‘I have the control over the situation anyways.’
I thought of the Lightening God Power.
When Yoo Eunhye was struck by lightning several times, her conception vessel and governor vessels opened up.
Likewise, with the help of Lightening God Power, I may be able to burn the yin energy and pierce Krithli’s blocked vessels.
My mana went up to about 90, and it would be possible to produce the same power as lightning.
If I had complete command of the skill, I may be able to cure the yin energy congenital disease of Krithli’s, which had been blocking her veins.
‘Now the game boils down to the time that I have…I suppose the only way to sustain Krithli’s life is Elixirs.’
Krithli was in a state of exhaustion where it would not be strange for her to fall dead tomorrow.
However, it took time to master and perfect the Lightening God Power.
Elixirs would keep Krithli alive during that time.
An Elixir was worth 100,000pt per a bottle, but its healing power was tremendous.
I had spent many points at the auction house, and the remaining points that I had in my hands were less than tens of thousands.
With such a small amount of money left, I had to use all the points that I could earn in purchasing Elixirs.
‘Perhaps the reason that the Dark Elves signed the contract with Spirit of Dark was that they could not afford any Elixirs.’
I suddenly thought that the Qin vampires were merely excuses and what the Dark Elves really wanted was Elixirs.
If Krithli were so important to the Dark Elves, they could have been tempted by offers that the Spirits of Dark made. The whole town had to accept the offer to protect her…
Of course, my thought was nothing more than a wild guess.
I turned away from my thoughts and said, “Do you want me to sympathize?”
“No, Dungeon Master. I told all these stories to inform you what happened.”
Juliam shook his head.
I continued, “Then you must work as a member of my dungeon from now on. You know what to do.”
“Shall we stop the humans from coming into the dungeons?”
They seemed to know the basic rules.
“You are correct. It may not happen right away, but humans will gradually try to climb up to the dungeon. You must be prepared for humans. Stand by and defend the positions that I assign you. I will assign… the 15th floor. I will send few more Dwarves, and you can consult Lyhee regarding further details in the future.”
I had created an ecology in the dungeon only up to the 5th floor. Therefore, if I sent the Dark Elves to the 6th floor, then the balance of the ecology would break down. It was clear to me that the awakened heroes, who struggled to confront even low monsters, would dare to come up and fight intermediate monsters.
I thought that sending the Dark Elves to the 15th floor was good enough.
Lyhee, who just figured out what was going on, flew over and stood on my shoulder.
Then she put her hands around her waist.
“Ahem, did you guys hear that? I’m Lyhee. You will have to listen to me.”
“I salute the fairy of Dungeon Core.” Juliam bowed quickly.
Lhyee became more arrogant.
“Lyhee, please send them to the 15th floor. I have other things to do.”
“Sure~”
Lhyee flew again and stood in front of the Dark Elves.
Then she tried to give the grimmest look that she could make.
“Come on. I will show you around. If you do not follow me closely, I will leave you behind!”
While guiding the Dark Elves, Lyhee did not stop talking.
“You guys, you better be prepared. I can be the meanest bitch ever! I will kick your asses. If you dare challenge me, I will throw you all to the Orcs!”
“We will follow your order as you wish, Master Lyhee,” Juliam replied in the dullest tone ever as though he were a machine.
The Dark Elf showed a good attitude.
Smiling, Lyhee continued, “However, if you follow my orders well and do a good job, you will get rewarded, too. I do not want my Dungeon Master to scold me for making you only work all the time. The prize is…well, I will give you what you want. What do you want?”
Lyhee seemed to change since the last time I scolded her.
It seemed that she became more open-minded and was willing to help the Dark Elves settle down.
Julia opened his mouth and spoke carefully, “Well then, could we please get a bottle of Elixir as a reward? ”
“What? Elixir? That is very, very expensive!”
“However, I believe that our Dungeon Master can get Elixirs.”
“Well, you are correct. Our Dungeon Master is amazing and has a lot of power. He drinks Elixir every day like water. Sometimes he even bathes with Elixirs.”
Lyhee told lies after lies without even blinking.
Juliam stammered in surprise, “Oh, our Dungeon Master is indeed great. From the first time I saw him in the auction house, I could tell that he was much better than others. He did not care about the Grand Dukes at all.”
“But why Elixirs all of sudden?”
“We want to help Krithli recover, and we need Elixirs to do so.”
“When you say Krithli, do you mean that weak Dark Elf all the way in the back?”
“Yes…Krithli was born weak and has been very weak since then.”
The weakness of Krithli came from the curse of the Ice Dragon.
The curse would give a large amount of yin energy to the cursed when he or she was born, and it would not allow the cursed to live more than twenty years.
Elixirs, even if they could not completely cure the curse, could improve Krithli’s conditions and make her healthier.
Lyhee thought for a moment and then stuck out her lips.
“Unfortunately, I cannot give Elixirs for your rewards. I do not have that much authority. Do you know how hard it is to earn 100,000 points? You cannot just run into points by digging in the ground.”
“Then, is it okay for the Dungeon Master to approve of giving us Elixirs as rewards?”
“Everything in this dungeon belongs to the Dungeon Master. So do all of you, Dark Elves. You have to use everything that you have for the Dungeon Master, even the last strand of your hair. So in other words, if the Dungeon Master approves, you may be rewarded with something even better than Elixirs. On the other hand, you might provoke the Dungeon Master if you ask for too much beyond your authority. I cannot help you or cover you up when the Dungeon Master is mad! So why don’t you ask for something other than Elixirs?”
“We are very sorry, but we really need Elixirs for our reward.”
“Then shall I give you some advice?”
“I will engrave your words to my heart, Lyhee.”
Leehi smiled contentedly.
Julium the Dark Elf, unlike dumb Cobolts or rude Dwarves, knew how to respect other fairies and be polite.
“Alright. Listen carefully to what I say. First of all, our Dungeon Master does not like beating around the bush. If you need Elixirs, you better go talk to the Dungeon Master and ask for them directly. Of course, you may want to prepare something in return for asking for Elixirs. If you go unprepared and say something like ‘Give me Elixirs!’, Dungeon Master will stick a blunt, thick sword in your ass!
This was similar to one of the jokes that the Dwarves shared when they were bored.
Lyhee elaborated little bit more on that. However, the Dark Elves were shocked when they heard this, because they did not know that Lyhee’s words were exaggerated jokes.
“Pardon me, Lyhee? Where would the Dungeon Master stick what?”
“You said you would engrave my words to you heart?”
“Oh, no, I am sorry. The sword…so the Dungeon Master would put it in there.”
“Yes, and unlike me, our Dungeon Master hates listening to the same thing over and over. Please be direct and concise when talking to him.
“Thank you. Your advice was very helpful.”
“Hehe. I am telling you, you have to listen to me and do as I tell you. If you do so and follow me well, who knows, you might get Elixirs as your wish!”
“I will bear that in mind, Lyhee.”
She liked everything that the Dark Elves said.
Lyhee got excited.
“Hmm! I was not planning on anything, but since I like you guys, I will create a nice garden on the 15th floor of the dungeon where you will be living. It will be a very nice and very large garden!”
“Thank you,” Juliam recited.
However, it was not certain if the Dark Elves would remain grateful even after the garden was completed.
<hr />
After Lyhee and the Dark Elves left the top floor of the dungeon, I took out the ‘Brain God Power’ skill book from my magic pocket.
‘Is this my first attacking skill in this life?’
Combination skills and Eyes of Mind were merely assisting skills.
On the other hand, the Lightening God Power was an attacking skill.
Name- Lightening God Power (U)
Description: The book teaches the ways to become a lightening god. If you master up to twelve stars, then you can have a complete command of lightening, using them as at you will.
That was the explanation about Lightening God Power.
Of course, even if I mastered up to twelve stars, I would never become a true lightening god.
In addition, Lightening God Power had the grade of unique.
A skill of unique grade was good, but not outstanding.
However, it was still necessary to learn Lightening God Power for many reasons.
Using Lightening God Power, I may be able to cure Krithli’s deadly curse and control Yoo Eunhye’s passive skill.
Perhaps I might even achieve something very special.
“Learned.”
You have learned the Lightening God Power.
[Although you have low achievement, with the help of the high mana you have, you now can hold a hundred million watts (1 MW) of electrical power in your body.]
[Your status window will now have a new slot called ‘electrical power.’]
