Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 26
Chapter 26: Episode 7. Dungeon Enhancement . (2)
‘Hmm. I didn’t know Lyhee had such talent.’
I was quite surprised, but it wasn’t too bad.
Since she was being a bit silly in front of me and seemed different in front of others, I just gave her a look.
In my former life, I didn’t let Lyhee have the authority to use points. I lost my dungeon too early, so I had no chance to check Lyhee’s talent.
Now that I thought about it, it was a very good way to use a stick-and-carrot strategy.
Lyhee squeezed everyone like a devil, and right before they started to stand up, I stepped in and played the good cop. I helped them to have less than the minimum conditions to survive and they were crying to thank me.
If Lyhee did this a little longer, I was sure that she would be able to control this quite well.
I needed the workforce on the bottom of the system, so Lyhee needed to have more experience in managing them.
I spent a lot of points to summon them, so every drop of their blood and every part of their bodies were mine.
Three meals a day, ten minutes of break, and six hours of sleep was the minimum requirement for their survival.
‘This building looks like shit…but anyways, it is not for me.’
Awakened heroes wouldn’t mind the look of it as long as the place could provide safety. They would run into this shit palace to get away from the monsters.
The design of it didn’t really matter.
“Ma…master what do you think? Isn’t it beautiful?” Lyhee asked, blushing.
Lyhee and I left the third floor and came to the Dungeon Core.
The Dungeon Core was shinier than usual, which made it clear that Lyhee was quite nervous.
I nodded lightly. “It was beautiful in different ways.”
“Lyheehee,” Lyhee laughed.
I was happy that she didn’t ask me in what ways.
“Lyhee. You must follow my directions.”
“Okay.”
“You don’t need to change your attitude. As you said, you need to make them work even harder. I will leave it under your management, 100%.”
“Would that be ok?”
“I don’t have much time to spend in my dungeon. I need to let someone manage my dungeon during my absence, and you are the best one to take that job.” I told her sincerely.
Lyhee looked at me with surprise. “Do…do you think I can manage such a huge task?”
“Lyhee. You will become busier. Want it or not, you will have a lot of things to do. I will let you manage important tasks more and more. If you show me your attitude without any confidence, that would be disappointing.”
“No, Master! Lyhee will never let you down!”
Lyhee shook her head and showed me her fist as if it was the symbol of her determination.
The things I would let her manage would just be some ecosystems of the dungeon or managing workers like Dwarfs, but I was glad that she was showing her motivation.
“I trust you.”
“Lyhee~”
“But now, Lyhee, we need to start inside affair mode. I need to have more Orcs on the third floor and revamp the fifth floor, now.”
“Ok, Master!”
Zing-
Dungeon Core started to show the hologram.
I had a look at the status of my dungeon and added 100 more Orcs on the third floor. I’d lost most of my Orcs during this fight, so I need them to repopulate themselves.
I started with 50 of them, and they became 200 in 9 months, but 90% of them died during the fight, so it was quite a damage for me.
Orcs’ pregnancy periods were around three months, and they gave birth to five children on average. It only took six months for them to be fully grown.
The normal cycle would be a year and a half, but the vibe of Mana from the Dungeon accelerated their growth. Thanks to that vibe, the number will recover in about four months.
‘It is a bit of waste.’
One Orc costs 700pt.
Goblins and Kobolds cost only 35pt, but Orcs were relatively expensive.
‘I need to set up everything until the fifth floor.’
I couldn’t step in every time.
If I missed one fight and let the awakened heroes pass the fourth floor, then there was nothing to stop the heroes until the top floor.
I needed my fifth floor to be a place of despair for the awakened heroes.
I pulled up the monsters for sale.
[Lowest Level Monsters]
Goblin 2Lv – 35pt
Kobold 2Lv – 35pt
Aisle Snake 1Lv -20pt
Carnivore Bat 1Lv – 20pt
Slime 3Lv – 200pt
Skeleton 4Lv – 500pt
Zombie 4Lv – 450pt
Mimic 5Lv – 1200pt
Knol 2Lv – 80pt
Crazy Hound 2Lv – 120pt
….
[Low-level Monsters]
Orc 2Lv – 700pt
Mud Golem 5Lv – 2,000pt
Puppet 2Lv – 900pt
Snowman 3Lv – 999pt
Giant Carnivore Flower 4Lv – 1,400pt
Slumber Moth 3Lv – 1,100pt
Gargoyle 5Lv – 1,900pt
Harpy 4Lv – 1,200pt
….
The list was very long, so multiple windows came up at once.
The list was not really organized, so I had to spend a lot of time to sort them out and find the monster I needed.
Lv was showing the strength in numbers; five was the highest. For example, Knol was the lowest 2Lv while Orc was the low 2Lv.
Those were just general numbers. I couldn’t rely on those numbers too much. It was just a reference to understand the levels.
“I should start with Mud Golems.”
The fifth floor was where I wanted to make awakened heroes feel despair for the first time. I wasn’t planning to increase the level a ridiculous amount, but awakened heroes who passed the fourth floor would know that they had to go back.
Or simply die there.
There were two entrances to get to the fifth floor.
I bought 20 Mud Golems and put 10 of them on each entrance, with 30 Puppets next to them to support them.
Puppets were the tool of the Scavengers of Devildom. They used different kinds of metal, potion, magic, and voodoo to create Puppets that would only follow their master’s order.
Scavengers were all thumbs, so their Puppets were never strong, but they were better at battles compared to Orcs.
‘Harpies would be nice for repopulation.’
I needed at least one species to repopulate on every floor.
Goblins, Kobolds, and Orcs would increase their numbers endlessly without their nemesis, so I had to control the speed of their repopulation. Harpies repopulated slower than other monsters.
To have enough of them while Mud Golems and Puppets were guarding the entrance, I needed at least 50 of them.
I summoned 80 Harpies on the fifth floor.
So, I used 260,000pt in total to take care of internal affairs.
I had 910,000pt left.
I had to spend more points to buy and hide some treasures in my dungeon.
‘I can recover this amount easily. There are so many awakened heroes that will run into my dungeon to find treasures.’
The majority of Korean awakened heroes didn’t try to take too many risks.
That was because of the website and guilds. Korea was also such a small country that they were good at managing risks quite well.
It was different overseas.
There were many awakened heroes who would enter Korea even if they had to illegally, just to find the treasures in my dungeon. They would help me recover my points.
“I’m done for now.”
“Are you?”
“Yeah.” When I nodded and ended inside affair mode, Lyhee was staring at me without moving. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Lyheehee. No reason.”
She was just a strange fairy.
“I have to go now. I will let you handle the rest.”
“I will not disappoint you!!” Lyhee answered with full motivation, but she looked disappointed soon enough.
The Dungeon Core was connected to the master, me. Lyhee was a fairy that was also connected to my Dungeon Core.
Our souls were connected, so I was sure that she was a bit sad that I was leaving.
I’d never seen Lyhee like this, but she was a natural-born chatterbox. I was able to imagine that she was sad because she couldn’t chat about things anymore.
“But…I think I would need a tool to communicate with you.” I told Lyhee with a smile.
If I checked the shop, there would be some objects with communication magic that Lyhee could use.
“Oh! Then…then…would you mind if I mark magic on one of your body parts?”
“Can you…use magic?”
Even in my former life, I’d never heard of a fairy of the Dungeon Core that used magic of any kind.
They were just supporters.
They didn’t have a real physical presence, so they couldn’t do anything physical. All they could do was manage the Dungeon and advise one or two things.
I was quite curious about what she could do.
Lyhee was touching her fingers and hesitated. “I can’t use it many times, and I don’t want to use it a lot. But Dungeon Master is lovely to me, so I would like to give you one.”
“Sure. Where should I get it?”
“That is…”
“That is?”
“Lips…”
“Okay. Do it,” I answered.
I kind of wanted to see the magic of the fairy as well.
Then Lyhee started to blush and moved her wings fast. “So… should I…?”
“Don’t make me repeat myself. Do it.”
“You need to close your eyes first.”
“Is it necessary?”
What kind of magic requires closed eyes?
When I asked her, Lyhee answered with very determined eyes.
“That gives more power to the magic.”
“That’s strange.”
Was it because it was the magic of the fairy?
Well, maybe it was the first time a fairy of the Dungeon Core was using magic. It was an acceptable request.
I closed my eyes.
Soon Lyhee flew to my face and stopped for a second and…
Chu!
She kissed my lips.
When I frowned and opened my eyes, there was a status window.
「Incredible achievement! You are the first one to be blessed by the fairy of the Dungeon Core.」
「Title ‘The first one to be blessed by a fairy’ is given.」
‘This…’
A title!
The only title I’d received until now was ‘Unbreakable Warrior’.
Now, I just got my second title.
I simply forgot about Lyhee’s ridiculous act and opened my status window right away.
Name: Randalf Bruciel
Occupation: Count of Devildom(Dungeon Master)
Title:
Unbreakable Warrior(Ex U, All Abilties+2) The first one to be blessed by a fairy(U, Mana +6)
Abilities:
Power 79(+2), Intelligence 64(+2), Speed 74(+2), Strength 80(+2), Mana 82(+8),
Potential(382+16/500)
Others: The heart of Hell Lord has been planted. (Full power is not open yet)
Skill: Skill Combination(R), Mind’s Eye(U)
[Comparison]
Power 79 Intelligence 65 Speed 75 Strength 82 Mana 84 Potential(375+10/500)
Power 81 Intelligence 66 Speed 76 Strength 82 Mana 90 Potential(379+16/500)
The level was great as well.
Unique. The one and only title!
It was a great name that increased my Mana by 6.
My pure Mana was 82, my title added another 8, and now my Mana was over 90.
When you passed over ability level 90, you stepped into the next level of abilities. Mana helped a lot, including the power of magic, authority over others, and more.
If I used my Mana, the majority of devils would feel threatened. They would be surprised. In my former life, I had low Intelligence, and Mana which was one of the biggest causes of my struggle, but now, my Mana was higher than any other abilities.
I had to stop myself from laughing and looked at Lyhee.
Lyhee covered her cheeks as if she was being shy.
She was looking at me to check if I was going to be angry at her.
She’d blessed me and given me a title as well. There was no reason to be angry at her.
“Thank you.”
Something that didn’t really come out from my mouth easily.
It was really awkward to say the words.
I only had less than a handful of occasions where I was really grateful to someone.
Now was the time where I should show my gratitude. Although it was awkward as hell, I had to express myself.
Lyhee looked really happy and she smiled sincerely. “Lyheehee. You’re welcome. Now Dungeon Master can talk to Lyhee anytime you want. And Lyhee can as well!”
“Don’t talk to me unless it is necessary.”
Faries were well-known chatterboxes.
If I let her talk to me any time, she would try to talk to me all the time; I needed to control her a bit.
“…Yes, Master.”
“I need to go now. Take care of the dungeon while I’m gone.”
“Don’t worry. Take care, Dungeon Master.” Lyhee bowed down.
I waved my hand once and left the top floor of my dungeon.
